What company do you use for shipping?
We use Federal Express and US Priority Mail. UPS is available upon request.
How do I get my finger sized?
Due to the custom nature of our eagle rings, ordering the correct size is very important. We cast rings in ¼ increments from size 6 and up. For the most accurate fit, visit a local jeweler and have your finger sized for a wide band ring. If this is not possible, we will ship a plastic ring sizer to you upon your request. If you use our plastic sizer, please let us know so that we can make the proper adjustment.
(Rings sized 13 + will require a slight additional charge, depending on the size. Please send us an email or give us a call to get the exact amount.)
What do I do if my ring is the wrong size?
Upon return receipt of your ring, we will re-size it once to the corrected size for no charge, plus a $15 return shipping charge. After 30 days, there will be an additional charge for resizing.
Do you inscribe anything on the inside of the ring?
No, due to our 30 day 100% guarantee return policy, we can not inscribe our rings. We recommend you bring your ring to a local jeweler for personal inscriptions.
Do you ship to addresses outside the United States?
We ship FedEx International. International customers will be responsible for the VAT and duties which vary by country. Please contact your local FedEx office for a more accurate estimate and let us know how we can assist you.
Why are Carroll rings different from other emblematic and historic rings on the market?
Each ring design in our collection was hand carved (not laser generated) and created using the ancient art of lost wax casting process. Lost wax casting is a jewelry making method used by the finest jewelers in the world. It is where the ultimate beauty of a fine piece of jewelry originates.
The original ring design begins as a sketch on paper. Then it is painstakingly hand-carved out of a single piece of wax. With surgical precision and careful attention to detail, every feather, shield and shape is intricately hand carved into a three dimensional model. Some actually took weeks to complete. Even the most sophisticated jewelry companies in the world do not have the ability to produce such finely detailed sculptures.
After the wax model is completed, it is enclosed in a plaster mold that is fired in a furnace that vaporizes the wax. Molten metal is then poured into the mold's cavity using centrifugal force. The metal, when carefully cooled, perfectly reproduces the hand carved wax model - thus called the “ancient art of lost wax carving”. A mold is then made from this metal model to cast single or multiple editions of the piece in sterling silver or gold. After the ring is cast to our customer's exact size and specifications, it is polished by hand and stamped with “USA” and the 10k, 14k
or 18k karat solid gold or sterling silver marking.
Our designs are original and copyrighted and registered in the US Library of Congress. Our jewelry rings are cast solid with the finest precious metals. We do not use any solder, screws or glue commonly found with the other emblematic rings on the market. Each ring is manufactured in our Illinois studios. We stand behind every purchase. Guaranteed 100%.
What is the difference between the 10K, 14K and 18K gold?
Pure gold is too soft to withstand everyday wear, so it is alloyed with a mixture of metals like silver, copper, nickel and zinc to add to the strength and durability. 'K', or karat, or karatage indicates the purity of the gold, or how much metal in a piece is gold. Karats are expressed in 24th's, making 24 karat gold 100% gold. The color of gold is determined by the type of metal alloys included in it and the percentage of each metal alloy. 18K gold contains more precious metal than 14K gold. It is composed of 75% gold, which is alloyed with other metals to make it strong enough to withstand everyday wear. 14K gold is composed of 58.3% gold, 41.7% other metals give it strength, its color is not as rich as 18K gold. 14K gold is most commonly found in cases where strength is more important. 10K gold has 41.7% gold with an alloy mix of 58.3%. It is the legal karat limit content for gold in the United States.
Will my silver eagle ring tarnish?
Care should be taken to prevent silver tarnish build-up, a dulling that naturally occurs when the silver reacts with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the ambient air. Sterling silver tarnishes easily when exposed to salty air and products containing sulphur, such as rubber gloves and certain papers. Use a non-abrasive silver polish to remove tarnish. Wearing your silver jewelry often is the best way to prevent tarnish.
Pure silver is relatively soft, very malleable and easily damaged. It is commonly combined with other metals to produce a more durable product. The most precious of these alloys is sterling silver which consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Although any metal can make up the 7.5% non-silver portion of sterling, centuries experimentation have shown copper to be its best companion, improving the metal's durability without affecting its beautiful color. The small amount of copper added to sterling has very little effect on the metal's value . The price of the silver item is affected by the labor involved in making the item, the skill of the craftsperson and the intricacy of the design. Sterling silver is most often used for jewelry because of its beauty and durability. Under federal law, the mark of the precious metal content of the jewelry must be displayed on the jewelry. Look for the fineness mark and the maker's mark on the inside of the ring to ensure the quality. All of the metals we use are of the finest quality of fine jewelry standards.
